Surprise!

I really wanted to put on a big MBA graduation party for Kevin but he doesn't like any of the attention on him and asked that I wouldn't so we decided to surprise him at work. The kids helped make a banner to put in front of his desk that said Hip Hip Hooray Daddy Got His MBA! We also bought him some balloons that the children helped pick out and we made him a chocolate lei. Ashleigh saw an idea from the Friend magazine and suggested to make him a decorated pencil holder with their picture on it. We had fun making one from each of the kids. The kids also drew a picture and rolled it up like a diploma to give to him. We made him yummy cookies and boy was he surprised. Oh, I love to make my husband smile. It's so fun to serve. The kids loved it too.

I love Portage! They have so many free events for the children during the summer. Today was a birthday celebration for the Lunch and Learn series. The kids had fun eating cake and playing games, but most of all they loved the magic show.

This month is an exciting one for making cards for Kevin. I had fun making a 10th year anniversary card, graduation card, and a Father's Day card for Kevin. I keep them in a binder with all the cards we give each other. I started this tradition when we first got married because we didn't have a lot of money to buy cards so I made them. I'm glad Kevin appreciates them. I love looking at them and watching the styles change as the years pass.
