On our journey to Colorado for our family reunion, we stopped by Winter Quarters and took a tour of the visitor center. This was half way to Colorado. We left at 3 a.m. from our house. We learned so much about the pioneers and the faith they had in every footstep. Our journey to the west was nothing like their journey.
Kam, Ash, and Brynn dressed up like pioneers and pulled the handcart. They tried to get it over a rock and it was challenging for them.
Woo hoo! We made it to Colorado. A 20 hour drive. The kids were awesome!
Connor was amazing both ways. He just slept most of the time and hung out.
At the reunion we had picture day. We were in red, white and blue because we were almost there for the 4th of July.
All happy 40 of us. The rockies are so beautiful.
Brynn had fun with her cousins on a canoe trip.
One night we had family talent night and Andrew was as happy as can be! We did a few goofy skits for everyone.
Andrew loved his first horse back ride.
All the cousins were thrilled to get on the horse.
Connor enjoyed every minute of being held by aunties, uncles, and cousins. He was the youngest grandchild there.
Brynn loves rock climbing. She makes it look so easy. There were 15 grandchildren who rock climbing. Kevin had a great time belaying them.
Ashleigh just rock climbed on up to every level. Kam did great too. He was able to do the hardest level.
Brynn and Gracie reunite. They are only 3 days apart and they are so much alike. They had fun having a slumber party together at the reunion.
Ashleigh amazed me with her archery skills. She had great aim. Kamren also did archery with his cousins.
Kam enjoyed his first zipline experience.
All of us ladies had fun on a hike together. The waterfall was beautiful.
Kevin, Kam and I all got to do a zipline together. It was so much fun!
Andrew loved mini golfing with his cousins.
Aaron and Kam loved hanging out together. They did several hikes and geocaching together.
One night we had smores, singing and a bonfire with all of the 40 Staples. The weather was perfect.
Lauren and Ashleigh are best cousins. They didn't leave each other's sides the whole time. Lauren made a flower wreath for Ashleigh one evening. I love watching the cousins play together.
One afternoon, the oldest cousin painted all the little cousins nails and toenails. It was a treat. Lots of fun colors and stickers for the toes.
So sad to say goodbye to grammy and grampy.
We decided to stay a few days and explore Denver as a family. We had a tour of the candy factory. The kids loved it, of course.
This is such a classic picture of Kamren's fear going on a very high ride with a quick drop. He survived and I loved watching him. He was very brave.
Andrew didn't like his first roller coaster ride but he loved everything else in the kiddie land. He was tall enough to go on everything. We loved that there were no lines.
I had to capture this. We are walking around the State Capitol in Kansas and Brynn just took little Andrew under her wing.
I try to go to a different amusement park every year with the kids. This was a great park. We loved the fireworks at the end. What an easy day with kids. They sure went to sleep easily that night.
We stopped at Liberty Jail, one of the church sites on our way home. This is one of our favorite stops. Joseph Smith is amazing. We are so grateful for all of his sacrifices. He is an example to us.
Just a few minutes away from Liberty Jail is the Kansas City temple. It is beautiful. It will be done next Spring.
One of our favorite things about hotels are the hot tubs, pools and fun breakfasts in the morning.
Happy 4th of July. WE enjoyed the parade near our house. We called it the tootsie roll parade because the kids got mounds of them. We love America!

Kevin and I loved watching the children enjoy the parade. It's so fun to see them happy. We worked very hard all morning trying to get laundry done and the house all clean from our trip. This was a treat for them to get out.
Kamren still wants to be in the military. I woke up and saw that he had a display of army men by one of the fourth of July decorations. He wants to keep our country free.

Too Much Fun!!! Next time you are in Denver you need to let me know. We are only a few hours away and have family there. What a fun trip. You even survived the drive!

Hi, this is Anaise Robertson, married to Scott Robertson (you certainly must remember him!), and I was reading my cousin's blog when I saw your names on a side bar, and randomly clicked over, only to see that you were actually in our neighborhood recently! That's our temple (Kansas City) you have pictures of! It's within our ward boundaries! What fun it would have been to visit and let our families meet each other if we'd known you were here!
I'd invite you to our blog to catch up on our family, but I've gone as private as can be because of some meanness in the world that affected us.
At any rate, you all look as happy as can be, and that is always lovely to see.
