Ready Set Here we go to Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont and New York. More than a 100 hours in the car together and traveling over 3,000 miles. We love road trips!
Our first stop was in New York. We visited the sacred grove where Joseph Smith saw God and Jesus Christ.
It truly is so sacred.
We are so grateful we were able to take the kids and help them gain their testimony of Joseph Smith.
Kevin felt prompted to go to the Palmyra Pageant. We added one more day to our trip so we could go see it. We are so glad we did! One day we are going to apply to be in it.
Even though the kiddos are tired we still got to feel the spirit of our Savior in the Palmyra Visitors center.
Brynn is our fearless, social girl. She loved talking to the cast before they performed in the pageant.
Kevin found the cabin for us. It was church owned and so clean.
Picnics are great for breakfast right before we head to church.
Our cabin could fit 16 people. It was so spacious.
Church was packed from members all over traveling to see the pageant.
After church we were able to tour the farm and then the rain came.
We stopped at a few old covered bridges along the way to Vermont.
KOA are the new love for the Staples. This is our first time trying them and we love them. They are kid friendly, clean and affordable.
We got to go to Dartmouth college and see one of the first Book of Mormons that were printed in the time of Joseph Smith. Amazing experience!
You could feel the power of the book and its truthfulness.

We went to Joseph Smith's birthplace in Vermont.
We know Joseph Smith is a prophet of God.
We got to go on a golf cart and tour around the grounds where Joseph Smith lived.
Kam was able to touch the foundation where Joseph Smith was born.

We saw tons of trees that were just tapped for maple syrup. What a process.
Ben and Jerry's tour. We have craved Ben and Jerry's ice cream since!

Chutters. This made the kids day. Its the world's longest candy counter. Connor can't take his eyes off the candy.
We had to pull the kids out of there.

Conway, NH We had to take the boys on a train ride.
Andrew and Connor loved it.
McDonalds ice cream cones for 49 cents. Can't beat it.
We couldn't find a cabin in Conway so we stayed at a hotel. Boy was that luxury compared to cabin life.
Off we go to Maine
WE stopped at Strawberry Banke Museum, NH Its full of history and restored homes from the 1700 and 1800's. Lots of hands on activites for the kids.

The kids loved getting fresh lavendar. They are so used to getting lavendar oil from me but now they get to see the plant.
Portland Lighthouse. The most visited lighthouse in the country.
It was a very foggy day which was unusual for July. It's usually like this in the Fall.

Freeport, ME We could spend all day in L.L. Bean and the local outlets
Blueberries in Maine. They are small and sweet and grow wild in many places.

We had to try the popovers. It's an Acadian National Park things to do.

The kids could walk the rocks all day long.
Every night in Maine we were able to go to a different spot to see the sunset.

Kevin found us a cabin on a lake nearby. It took us about a half hour each day to go to Acadia National Park.
Kam was so helpful and made the campfire our last night at the Park for our neighbors.
Another KOA campground. Our cabin looked out to this lake. The kids loved this one because they had miniature golf, trampoline, ropes course, hiking trails and more.
We will have to do KOA again.
Niagra Falls New York was our last stop
We are sad to see our trip end but we had a special time together. That makes 42 states that I have seen, only 8 more.
